Eason is a conceptual mobile application designed for a modern bookstore, specifically tailored for comic book enthusiasts and graphic novel collectors. The project aims to bridge the gap between the tactile joy of browsing a physical bookstore and the convenience of a digital reading platform. The design emphasizes high-quality cover art, fluid transitions, and a personalized discovery engine that makes finding the next great series an adventure in itself.

The app features a "Digital Longbox" for collection management, an integrated high-performance reader optimized for panel-by-panel viewing, and a seamless checkout process for both physical and digital editions. The aesthetic is vibrant yet clean, allowing the colorful artwork of the comics to remain the focal point of the user experience.

THE CHALLENGE

Designing for comic books presents unique challenges: the artwork is varied and colorful, which can easily clash with a busy UI. Most bookshop apps treat comics like standard text-based novels, failing to provide the visual real estate that graphic storytelling requires. Furthermore, comic readers often find it difficult to track long-running series or discover new issues in a way that feels organic. The challenge was to create a layout that handles massive visual data without feeling overwhelming or cluttered, while ensuring the reading experience is comfortable on smaller mobile screens.

THE SOLUTION

We adopted a Visual-Centric layout that utilizes dynamic background blurring—sampling colors from the book covers to create a cohesive and immersive atmosphere for each title page. To solve the panel-reading issue, we designed a "Smart-Flow" navigation system that guides the eye through the action without losing the context of the full page.
